June 22, 1981 - December 30, 2015
Ramon Adame Jr., 34, passed away on December 30, 2015, at San Angelo Community Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born on June 22, 1981 in Eldorado to Ramon and Martha Adame. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 2000 and was employed at Schleicher County Medical Center as a lab technician and central purchasing for 15 years.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Isabel Arispe, Jesus and Jesusa Adame, uncle Richard Adame, Sr., and aunt Margarita Arispe. He is survived by his parents; Ramon and Martha Adame, fiance Carmen Marisa Espinoza,  grandfather Juan Arispe, Sr., brother Michael and wife Emily Adame and their children, Michael Jr., Jonnie Rae, Damari and Jayden Adame, all of Eldorado, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Ramon was better known as Tatis and always knew how to bring laughter to his family and before leaving the house he always said, "I love you." And If he ever forgot, he would come back to say it. Tatis enjoyed going on trips to Mexico with his aunts and Grandma Chavela. His aunts called him "stinker" because that he was, always playing jokes on them. He looked forward to waking up early on the weekends with his Dad to have breakfast with his Grandma Jesusa. Other hobbies he had was watching wrestling and playing basketball with his brother, cousins and other neighborhood kids.  As he matured his hobbies changed and if the weather was tolerable you would find him sitting outside with his parents, that's if he wasn't cruising. Over the years Tatis had many animals: a bird named Mango, his chameleon Rango and his loyal and special dog Kato. After high school he found his calling and was employed at Schleicher County Medical Center as a phlebotomist. There he was known by many as being one of the best at drawing blood. Not only did he leave smiles on patient’s faces but he did a wonderful job of bringing laughter to his co-workers.

Tatis had love for so many but his love and sparkle grew larger than life each time he gained another nephew. His love for those boys is out of this world, they will remember him cheering them on at all their games as well as wrestling with him, their trips to the dollar store and making s'mores together. Most of all they will miss praying with him before meals, they’re prayer went “Thank you God for our food, for our moms and dads, for our brothers and sisters & for our new friends” and Tatis always finished the last line for them saying “and please God help us to be good, Amen”

Tatis poured so much love into his family and others. He spent every spare moment with his fiance, Marisa. She brought so much joy to his life and the smile we all knew Tatis to have was that much brighter. She will remember him most by what he told her all the time "I love you to the moon and back infinity times infinity forever and ever, Amen". We will all miss Tatis’ kindness, laugh, love and gentle soul.

January 10, 1939 - February 25, 2016
Billy Wayne Williams, 77 of Eldoardo and San Angelo, died Thursday, February 25th, 2016 following a battle with cancer.

He was born January 10, 1939 to J Tom and Cecile Williams at his family's home on their farm and ranch in Schleicher County.  Billy assumed many responsibilities on that same farm and ranch at a young age due his dad's poor health.  These formative years are when he acquired an unparalleled work ethic and sense of responsibility for taking care of others.

Billy spent over 40 years farming, ranching, and managing a large feedlot operation on that same land.  Even with a work schedule that seemed to go around the clock, he always found time to enjoy family, gardening, and teaching young people how to work and become independent. He always said that "The best gift you can give someone is the ability to take care of theirself."

Billy transitioned into a career as an oilfield pumper in his 50s and always joked that he should've made that move earlier because it freed up so much of his time.  He loved the long drives through West Texas where he had a particular knack for pulling the most out of old oil and gas wells.

Billy never wanted to retire and stayed busy into his final days.  He loved almost anything outdoors and could tell stories with the best of them.  Most importantly, he would drop anything he was doing to hold a baby or help mold a young adult's life.  His greatest memories were of times spent helping others.

He is survived by his wife Beverlee Williams, sons Chris Kessler, Mike Kessler and wife Trish, daughter Kelly Sexton, son Doug Leggett; grandchildren Justin Leggett and wife Tara, Brandon Leggett and wife Laurie, Blake Leggett and wife Sarah, Bryce Leggett and wife Kirsten, Briley Leggett, Crystal Leggett, Heather Leggett and husband Pac, Koty Robinson, Kaytlin Robinson, Autumn Meyers-Rush, Garrett Kessler, 12 great grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and sister-in-laws Barbara Williams, Carolyn Williams, and Claryce Williams Runge and husband Jim.

He was preceded in death by children Tanya Mikeska and Jeff Leggett, his parents, and siblings Cecil, Bernard, James, Garland, David, Harold, Bobby, and Frank Williams, and Ann Brock and Mary Kathlyn Warren.

Billy and Beverlee are members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in San Angelo.

Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Eldorado, TX on Saturday February 27th at 2 PM with graveside services to follow.

James Walton (J.W.) Davis, Jr. was born in Round Mountain, Texas January 22, 1926 to Emma Birck Davis and James Walton (“Buck”) Davis, Sr., the 3rd of four children. He passed away during the morning of May 31, 2016 at age of 90 from health complications.

When he was 3 years old, his family moved to a newly established homestead west of Eldorado, Texas.

He grew up on that homestead attending grade schools in the Reynold’s & Kaffer communities: Both were one-room, one-teacher rural country schools in Schleicher County. For the 8th grade, he transferred to the new school in Eldorado.  He played football and remained in Eldorado High School until his senior year when he moved to Austin, Texas where he graduated from Austin High School. At Austin High School, he was instrumental in the school establishing a class to teach home economic skills to boys.

By the time J.W. graduated from high school, WWII was in full swing and at age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Army with the Travis County Draft Board.  After 6 weeks of intensive training in Fort Hood, Texas, he was shipped overseas to join action on the front along the French/Belgium border. He was on the battle front only 2 days when he was seriously wounded by a German mortar shell. He was hospitalized for the next 3 years in France, London and USA. Miraculously, his life was spared because of a bale of hay he was carrying for bedding in his fox hole. Medics saved his arm and hand but pieces of shrapnel remained throughout his body. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

After the War, he attended the University of Texas in Austin, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. J. W. was an outstanding man of many talents, interests and skills. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, gardener, wood craftsman, clever artist, handyman and jack of many trades. He was a gentle, loyal and kind man who dearly loved his family, country and friends and seldom met a stranger.  He was very active in the Austin Civic Community, Rotary Club and Masons where he made many friends. Throughout life, he retained great love for his boyhood home in Schleicher County and made many trips there in his travel trailer just to visit life-long friends and neighbors and to roam around his childhood territory. His mother often accompanied him on these trips until her passing in 1995. He also instilled his love for outdoors and the family farm in his nephews who often had the pleasure of being with him on these trips.  He was very fond of his Eldorado friends.  He will be greatly missed.

J.W. married Nina Jo House, a teacher and nurse, in 1953 in Denton, Texas. They settled in Austin, Texas and had 2 children, Ryon Kent and Teresia Jo. He believed in God because he never failed to tell all those around him how Jesus had touched his life. Mike will be missed by all those who knew him, especially his loved ones.  The only comfort we have is in knowing he is in God’s hands.

The family would like to thank Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Hospice of San Angelo, and Dr. Chang for all they did for him, and especially for the love and support they showed him.

October 20, 1924 - August 4, 2016

Sarah Alice Hill McCravey enjoyed every bit of 91 years here on Earth.  On August 4, 2016, Sarah took her seat in Heaven with our Lord and Savior.  Born October 20, 1924 to J.E. (Gang) and Josephine (Gam) Hill, Sarah lived all of her life as a faithful resident of EldoradoTexas.  Sarah is survived by four loving and loyal children: Mike and Wife Glenda McCravey, W. Chris McCravey, Maureen and husband Bill Hodges and Jeanne and husband Steve Snelson.  She answered to many names, but her favorites were her “grandmother” names of which she had three!  “Grandmother” was given by Michele Jones and and Sarah Martin, “Bummer” was given by Cody McCravey, Makenzie Fryar  and Kayla Hubble and “Bubba” was given by Casey Snelson, Hillary Bueker, Ross Hodges and Blake Hamm.  With 19 great grandchildren running around, Sarah was always entertained!

In 91 plus years, Sarah left a lasting impression on many people in her community.  After graduating from Eldorado High School, Sarah attended San Angelo Business College and at the conclusion of WWII she married Billy McCravey on December 25, 1946. They established their roots in Eldorado and raised each of their children with pride.

Soon after moving back to Eldorado, Sarah started her long time career in banking at the First National Bank of Eldorado where she dedicated over 30 years.  Her customers at the bank were guaranteed a smile and a warm conversation while doing business.  When she was not working or taking care of her home, Sarah absolutely loved the time she spent with her girlfriends.  Many of these friends ended up being as close as family and countless memories were made during traveling adventures and weekly bridge club.

Sarah considered family her biggest blessing.  Not only did she remember every birthday of all 45 family members, each person received a special birthday card in the mail letting he/she know that they were loved.  She traveled thousands of miles following her beloved Eldorado Eagles and cheered on her grandkids in all of their competitions.  Family frequently gathered around her dinner table for great conversation and even better advice served with a side of Cheetos and Dr. Pepper.  It was also no mystery to her family that she could have been general manager for the Texas Rangers.  Sarah’s favorite memories came around each of the holidays where she opened her home to any and all that could make it.  The noise of happiness and excitement filled her home and warmed her heart.  She poured a life long legacy into her kids, grandkids and great grandkids that will live on.

The McCravey family sends a special thank you to Dr. Kristy Edwards, Dr. MarkEdwards, Misty, Toni, Roy, Noemi, Veronica and the employees of Lillian HudspethHospital for their constant care and friendship.

Memorial services will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, August 8, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Eldorado, Texas.  Memorials may be sent to the West Texas Boys Ranch or the charity of your choice.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Robert Lewis Jay, 80, passed from this life on Saturday, August 20, 2016 surrounded by family.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado.

Fellowship with family and friends will follow immediately in the church’s Fellowship Hall.

Graveside service will be at 4:30 p.m. at Eldorado Cemetery.

Robert was born March 23, 1936 in Robert Lee, Texas the only son of loving parents Virginia Ethel (Williams) and Sam Ritch Jay. He attended school in Robert Lee while honing his swimming, hunting and fishing skills along his beloved Colorado River. At the beginning of his junior year, he moved to San Angelo, Texas to further his training in music as a trombone player. He graduated from Lake View High School in 1954 where he also met a beautiful twirler, Pansie Marie Castello. They married on Christmas Eve of 1954 and were married for 62 blessed years. Robert attended Sul Ross University on a music scholarship where in 1958 he received a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in music, and was a member of several honor fraternities. He continued his education during summers as he began a teaching career in Robert Lee, later receiving a master’s degree in science education with honors from Texas A&M University. In 1960, he took a job teaching science and math at Eldorado High School where he served for 21 years as a teacher and high school principal.

In 1981, Robert & Pansie moved to Midland, Texas where Robert began work at Blaylock Geophysical with cousin, Steve Blaylock. Eight years later, Robert was wooed back by former students to once again teach upper level science and math at Eldorado High School. He retired from teaching in 2002 after 36 years in education, and then served on the school board for many years.

Music was a large part of Robert’s life even after college, playing in dance bands, jazz band, the San Angelo Symphony, and the San Angelo Community Band. He played his trombone until his health would no longer allow it. He was also passionate about airplanes as evidenced by his large “airplane room” filled with model and radio-controlled airplanes he built and flew, as well as holding a license as a private pilot.

Robert was a Christian man, devoted husband, revered father, grandfather & great-grandfather, and beloved teacher. He was a life-long student taking classes at colleges or trade schools most of his life. He considered an idle mind or idle hands a waste of time which benefitted family and friends with a treasure trove of woodworking, leatherworking, R/C model airplanes, music lessons, tennis lessons/trophies and more. He leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren that learned many of these crafts by spending memorable hours with “Pops.” A man of few words, but great character and principle, Robert will be dearly missed.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Pansie; son, Benjie Jay and wife Donna of Crane, Texas; daughters, Gynna Harlin and husband Billy Bob of Burleson, Texas, Sammye Duncan and husband Drue of Whitney, Texas, and Jolynn Bell and husband Tye of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren Cody Jay, John (Melissa) Jay, Amber Jay, Clayton Harlin (fiance’ Amelinda Jaramillo), Clifton Harlin (fiance’ Shelby Stripling), Clinton Harlin, Levi (Hayley) Duncan, Jaclynn Duncan (fiance’ John Sparks), Cullen (Kalyn) Duncan, Jennifer Clintsman (Sam) Dow, Courtney Clintsman; great grandchildren, Jacey & Kaci Jay, Delaney Duncan & Cayden Duncan.
