

Harold Wayne Grelle, age 86, passed Sunday, February 5, 2017 peacefully in his home.
He was born September 29, 1930 to Alfred and Ada Grelle. Harold served in the United States Army during the Korean War and shortly thereafter met and married the love of his life Peggy Jo on April 2, 1953, in Ozona, Texas. The couple lived in Mesquite, Texas, while raising their four children before residing in Eldorado, Texas.
Harold worked for Gardner Denver for many years and then began his own business Grelle Drilling in 1974. He took pride in his business, loved to hunt and fish always with a great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Ada Grelle, sister Bernice Ewald, wife Peggy Jo Grelle, son Terry Glenn Grelle and granddaughter Courtney Michelle Triplett.
Survivors include daughter Debra Kropp and husband Joe; son Michael W. Grelle and wife Shayla; son Gary D. Grelle, ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am February 8, 2017 at the Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado, Texas.
Rosa Fay Williams Reynolds was born on a snowy April 13, 1928 to Cecil and Gertrude Williams. She grew up eight miles east of Eden and attended Brady Valley school through sixth grade. That school then consolidated with the Eden school.
She graduated in 1945 as her class salutatorian. She attended Texas Women's College and Abilene Christian College and earned a degree in chemistry.
She trained in Dallas under Dr. Charles Carter as a laboratory technician. She worked as a laboratory technician under Dr. Victor Schultze in San Angelo for thirteen years.
She married Robert W. "Bob" Reynolds on September 3, 1963. For the next several years she assisted him in running the family ranch. When her children were school-aged, she resumed her career as a laboratory technician at Schleicher County Medical Center in Eldorado where she worked for over twelve years.
In 1991, she and Bob bought a house in San Angelo and gradually moved there full time over the course of the next several years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Reynolds and her son Robert Clark Reynolds.
She is survived by her daughter Joan Reynolds of Hillsboro, Oregon, and her four siblings: Maetta Davis of Abilene, Roy Williams and wife Annette of Mertzon, Nell Atchley of Odessa and Ruth Reed and husband Marvin of Ft. Worth, a special sister-in-law, Irene Reynolds of San Angelo, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schleicher County Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery.

Dorothy Louise Gibson, age 80 and a resident of Lewisville, TX passed away February 20, 2017 in Burleson, TX. She was born September 29, 1936 in Menard, TX to Sam and Ethel (Clark) Carrell. Dorothy attended schools in Eldorado, TX and Cooke County College in Gainesville, TX. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked at Denton Regional Medical Center until she retired in 2001.
Dorothy was married to Edward Gibson for 43 years, also of Eldorado, TX, he preceded her in death June 18, 1998. They were the parents of two daughters, Celia Gibson Owen and son-in-law Bryan (deceased) and grandchildren Windy Terrell and Seth Noah Owen; Sandra Gibson Holsey and son-in-law Larry, and grandchildren Nathan Holsey and wife Niki and Tammi Weil and husband Kevin; and one son, John Edward Gibson and granddaughter, Samantha Gibson; and also her great grandchildren, Kameron Weil, Kelton Weil, Knox Weil, Preston Terrell, Tay Terrell, Emily Terrell, Michael Terrell and Canon, Carson, and Paige Pierce.
She was a member of Garden Ridge Church of Christ in Lewisville.
A visitation will be held in Lewisville on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Dalton and Son Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation in Eldorado at Kerbow Funeral Home on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with interment to follow at
Eldorado Cemetery in Schleicher County where she will be buried next to her husband and her parents.

Eduardo “Lalo” Tobias was born on October 13, 1929 to Juanita Carvajal and Nolberto Tobias in Jimenez Coahuila, Mexico. On December 25, 1955, he married Cipriana Vasquez, a marriage that lasted 42 years.
Taught at an early age to work hard and support his parents, Lalo carried this devotion onto his wife and family. He worked as a ranch hand on the Mitchell-Harber Ranch in Telegraph, Texas and later for Page Bros. in Eldorado.
Despite only attending school to 3rd grade, Lalo taught himself many things. His grandchildren loved to hear his stories and also his amazing math skills. Lalo always spoke of hardships he endured but never with any bitterness. He always said, “Ay que estar conforme con la voluntad de Dios.” (We have to accept God’s will.)
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anita, his infant son Eduardo, Jr. and his grandson Jorge I. Medrano.
Survivors are wife Micaela, his son Manuel and wife Nelda of Sonora, daughter Juana Maria and husband Robert Torres of San Angelo, daughter Martha and husband Isidro Medrano of Eldorado. Also his beloved grandchildren, Tobias Torres, Tony Torres of San Angelo, Maggie Ramirez, Cande Tobias and Cipriana Tobias of Sonora, Marcos Medrano and wife Britni, Roman Medrano and wife Valeria of Eldorado. His pride and joy, his great-grandchildren, Cecil Vasquez of Sonora, Melisenda Medrano, Jorgie Medrano, Malacie Medrano and Christopher Medrano of Eldorado. Also his special niece Minerva Munoz of San Angelo.
We will miss you, you were our foundation. Que descanse en paz, Daddy.

Irene Sauer Reynolds passed away March 10, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas at the age of 88. Irene was the twelfth child born to Otto and Louise (Baethge) Sauer on December 26, 1928 in Blanco County. When Irene was 2 ½ months old, Louise moved the children to Schleicher County where Otto had purchased land and built a home for his family. Irene attended the Reynolds Community School for a couple of years then went to school in Eldorado until graduation.
On June 30, 1948 Irene married the love of her life, Billy Jack Reynolds, a neighborhood boy across the highway. Irene and Billy Jack resided in Reynolds Community in Schleicher County until Billy Jack’s death in 2011. They were life partners farming and ranching on the land they loved so very much. Irene’s favorite hobbies were gardening, canning and sewing. She was known for her sweet and dill pickles and her cooking. She loved teaching her granddaughters how to cook and sew and helping them with 4-H projects. The last several years of her life, Irene resided in the Village East retirement community. She loved attending activities at the Curry Center where she enjoyed playing card games, 42, and taking exercise classes with the many new friends she came to know and love. She was known to many there as the “cookie “ lady.
Irene and Billy Jack’s marriage of 62 years was blessed with three children, four grand children and three great grandchildren. Irene was a very hardworking and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly.
Her husband, Billy Jack, her parents, a set of stillborn twin boys and 9 siblings – Emma Dannheim, Regina Williams, Victor Sauer, Cora DeLongue, Rosa Faught, Clemens Sauer, Edgar Sauer, Leola Cartwright, and William Sauer, preceded Irene in death. She is survived by her children, Sidney Reynolds and wife Melonie, Lonnie Reynolds, and Judy Terry and husband Steve. Four grandchildren, Ginger Farrar and husband GW, Allison Reynolds, Bobby Terry and wife Laken, and Andrew Terry. Three great grandchildren, Manton and Morgan Farrar and Selah Terry. Two sisters, Bertha Lux and Gertrude Perkins and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Bobby Terry, Andrew Terry, G W Farrar, Sammy Dannheim, Monroe Dacy and Lee Dacy.
Service will be held Monday March 13, 2017 at 10:30 in the Schleicher County Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow in Eldorado Cemetery.

ELDORADO – Tommye Crumbley, 77, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from complications of a heart attack. Memorial services are still pending.
She was born August 21, 1939 in San Angelo, Texas to Thomas Richard and June Jones of Eldorado. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1957 and went on to attend Texas Tech University.
Most recently she worked as a Librarian for Eldorado Middle School and loved all of the children she interacted with very much. She also really enjoyed cooking, telling stories, exploring dirt roads she had never been on, ranching, playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew her as Grammy Tommy. We will forever miss that infectious laugh of hers and unfailing sense of humor.
Tommye was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Richard Jones; sister, Linda Dellavechia; nephew, Rich Dellavechia and her favorite furry friend Nacho. She is survived by her mother, June Jones and brother, Ricky Jones both of Eldorado. Her daughters Janna (Shane) Pridemore of Eldorado and Randa (Willie) Jacoby of Junction. Grandchildren include Brittany (Cody) Roberts of Dripping Springs, Lindsey (Jacob) Valdez of Del Rio, Bannon Wilson of San Angelo, Jacy Wilson of Junction and Strait Pridemore of Eldorado. The light of her life were her two precious great-grandbabies, Peyton Valdez and Paisley Roberts. Nephews Logan (Chely) Jones and Riley Jones both of Eldorado.

Thursday, March 30, 2017 Robert Wilson Page (Bob) of Canyon, Texas joined our Lord and Savior in His Church Triumphant. Born on January 8, 1952 in San Angelo, Texas Bob grew up in the loving community of Eldorado where he proudly played football, basketball, and ran track for the Eagles. Upon graduation Bob went on to play football at Texas Tech University and Sul Ross State University where he obtained his bachelor degree.
Bob spent his adult life as a rancher tending livestock primarily outside of San Angelo in Orient as well as in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. His ultimate love of the cowboy life made him an excellent steward of the land. He was a loving and proud father and grandfather, and was adored in return. Dear to his heart were his many friendships, and anyone who met him was captivated by his kind, gentle, and respectful manner.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow Wilson Page and Helen Marie (Brown) Page. He is survived by his three children Courtney Page Hellmann (Gary) of Boerne, Suzanne Page Whidbee (Jay) of Boerne, and Cash Albert Page of Canyon, grandchildren Harrison George Hellmann, John Carter Schuessler, and Emery Carmen Whidbee, sister and brother-in-law Debbie (Page) and Kerry Joy, niece Madolyn Joy Phillips (Chris) of Eldorado, and numerous loving cousins.
A 10:00 in the morning Graveside Service will be held at the Eldorado Cemetery on Friday, April 7, 2017 followed by an 11:00 Memorial Service at First Presbyterian Church of Eldorado, Texas. Mary Jo Horton Hill, 92, of San Angelo died Saturday, April 1. She was born on October 21, 1924, to Myrtle Gene Lewellen and Dwight David Horton in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her brother, Jack,soon joined the family. The Horton family lived in Indianapolis until her dad’s death when Mary Jo was 15. They moved back to Fort Worth to be near family.
Mary Jo graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth and enrolled in Texas Christian University along with her best friend Billie Barbour (later Mrs. Jack Jones of Eldorado). She soon met Jo Ed Hill (as Jo wrote in the Family History “over the marble machine”), discovered they shared a common 10/21 birthday, and a lifelong romance began. They were married at the First Methodist Church Chapel in Fort Worth on April 16, 1944, following Jo’s commissioning in the U.S. Navy prior to his departure for the Pacific Theater.
Mary Jo lived with her mom until Jo’s return and their subsequent move to Eldorado. They raised three children and never missed an activity or athletic game. Mary Jo’s voice was always identifiable from the gym stands while Jo remained silent. They were lifelong members of The First United Methodist Church where Mary Jo chaired the Parsonage Committee and the Bake and Rummage Sale.
She was a Charter member of the Eldorado Pride Committee. She loved bridge and was a devoted member of the Tuesday Bridge Club until 2013. She taught her daughters and their friends how to play. There was always a deck of cards, a jig saw puzzle or Christmas crafts on the game table. One of her greatest joys was designing and sewing her daughters’ wardrobes until they graduated from high school. She especially enjoyed creating party dresses with her friends.
She and Jo loved being grandparents to their seven grandchildren and were affectionately known by all as “Mo and Jo”. A trip to their home was highly anticipated. Extended family vacations were the norm and tales are still told of those times together. They lived in Eldorado until 2006 when they moved to San Angelo. They had been married for 67 years at Jo’s death in July 2011.
Mary Jo continued to live in San Angelo and for 2 years in Dallas. She missed her lifelong Eldorado friends and neighbors and “travel partners.” She lived her life without a complaint and accepted life’s joys and challenges equally. She was an example to those who loved her until the end of her life.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Susan Hill Goforth and Mack of Dallas, Matthew Goforth of Redwood City, CA, and Andrew Goforth and Kristen of Houston; Peggy Hill Sterling and Terry of San Angelo, Susan Sterling Toliver and Brent, and great grandchildren Claire and Will of Sulphur Springs; Anna Sterling Moore and Lars of Austin; and David Hill and Carrie of Lubbock, Michael Hill and Lindsey of Austin, Matthew Hill of Houston and Joseph Hill of Lubbock. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Earlene Horton of Fort Worth and beloved nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Horton and her sisters-in-law Margaret Hill Whitten and Sarah Hill McCravey.

Truett Kent Stanford Sr. of Los Banos, California passed away on Monday April 10th. Born on June 15th 1934 to Mildred (Mimmie) and Truett Covington Stanford in Eldorado, Texas.
Truett was the center and the co-captain of the Eldorado High School football team and he married his high school sweetheart Jorgia Mae Lagow in 1954. Truett graduated from Eldorado High School and went one year to San Angelo State University where he majored in Agronomy. He was active in 4-H and won many ribbons for showing Corriedale sheep. The Stanford family had a combination cattle ranch and cotton farm near Eldorado where all three of his brothers went to Eldorado High School.
Truett Kent went to work for Sinclair Oil Company in 1956 and worked in the oil fields around Eldorado and other parts of Texas. In 1969 he got the bug for going to California and headed west taking his wife and three kids, Debbie, TK (Jr.) & Kathy in tow. He went to work for Trailmobile making long haul semi-trailers as a welder. He taught himself auto body repair with a little help from Reg Lagow and from going to body shops and telling them he could do the work, when he was still learning the trade. Truett was very gifted when it came to using his hands and he became an accomplished Auto Body journeyman and learned the art of being a collision repair specialist. After four years of working in the body shops around San Jose, California, he decided to start his own shop and it was called Stanford Body Shop located on Monterey Road in San Jose. He had the shop for over 25 years.
In 1996 he was divorced after 42 years of marriage. In 2000, he married Ngyuet Ly and they moved to Los Banos, California in 2002. Truett had a disabling stroke in January, 2004 and his wife, Ngyuet faithfully took care of him for 13 years until his death.
His favorite pastimes were taking the family out on water-ski trips both in Texas and California and working on home improvement projects and loved being around family. Dad was full of passion, strength and a tenacity that enabled him to keep going when others would have given up. He put in long hours of work for his family. He gave to the Church and to missionaries and had a strong faith and trust in God. He loved attending Los Gatos Christian Church.
Truett K Stanford Sr. is survived by his wife, Nguyet Ly, also Jorgia Stanford and his three children from first marriage; Debbie Roach, TK Stanford and Kathy Hunter and 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also is survived by his three brothers; Albert Stanford (Sonny), Jack Stanford and Joe Stanford and their children, his many (mostly) nephews and a niece.
There will be a memorial lunch in Gilroy, California on April 29th Saturday 2 p.m. There will be a gathering of family and friends in remembrance of Truett K Stanford Sr. of Eldorado, Texas.
Edwin Darrell Grissom, 78, died at his home in Abilene on Thursday, April 27, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2017 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, in Abilene, with burial following in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Darrell was born July 5, 1938 in Cross Plains, TX to W.L. and Ina Grissom. As a young man, Darrell worked on drilling rigs for 10 years, then went to work as a policeman for the City of Anson for 10
years.
In 1972, he went to work for Wes-Tex Drilling in Abilene. In 1977, he was promoted to toolpusher. After Wes-Tex sold out, he worked for Patterson UTI. Darrell continued to work in that position until his retirement in September 2004.
In 1976, he married Maxine Smith in Lawton, OK. They lived in Eldorado, TX for seven years. In 1983, they purchased a farm in Jones County, where they raised coastal hay and livestock. They sold the farm in 2000 and moved to Abilene.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, W. L. and Ina Grissom; his daughter, Kathleen (Beanie) Bolden; and a brother, Jimmie Grissom.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Maxine’s two daughters, Misti Grant and husband, Terry of Abilene and Debbie Garner of Stith; four granddaughters, Megan Grant and Heather Bolden both of Abilene, and Samantha and Stephanie Graham of the Metroplex; son-in-law, Don Bolden of Abilene; three sisters, Dora Mankin of Eldorado, Jodi Kirk and husband, Kenneth of Truby, and Sharon Rister and husband, John of Hamlin; two brothers, Randall Grissom and wife, Mary of the Metroplex and Merle Grissom and wife, Christine of Lawn; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his name be made to his favorite charities, Ben Richey‘s Boys Ranch and West Texas Rehab Center.
The family wants to issue a special thanks to Dr. Longley, Dr. Arora, Dr. Hudman, Kindred Health Care and Kindred Hospice for all of the support and care.

Mary Ann Sherrod, 74, passed away May 16, 2017 in San Angelo, TX, released from the shackles of Parkinson’s disease.
She was born on November 21, 1942 in Hobbs, NM to Andy and Mary Lee Nixon.
Mary Ann graduated from Eldorado High School in 1961; she continued her education at North Texas University.
She married Hilton Sherrod on December 16, 1995. Mary Ann loved spending time with her pride and joy, her three children, she was always on the road and never missed a basketball or football game, band concert or 4-H event her kids were involved in. She enjoyed her kids, even more her grandkids.
She was a member of Southgate Church of Christ and loved cooking, sewing and taking care of others.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Mary Lee Nixon and her sister, Judy Kay Lomax.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Hilton Sherrod; one sister, Linda Scroggins; sons, Randy Runge and wife, Robyn and Art Runge and wife, Shannon; daughter, Lisa Brown and husband, Michael; step-sons, Steve Sherrod and wife, Karen, Mitchell Sherrod and wife, Laura and Nick Sherrod and wife, Kindra; 13 grandkids and 7 great grandkids.
Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 in the chapel of Johnson’s Funeral Home with Paul Shero officiating. Burial followed in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

On June 12, 2017 Richard Raymond Dickinson Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep. Richard was born on July 10, 1945. He is preceded in death by son Richard Dickinson Jr., son Marion Lee Kiser, grandson Roland David Dickinson, and great grandson Branden Norman. He leaves behind wife Sherry Dickinson, son Frank V. Dickinson, son Rupert & wife JayLynn Cammack, daughter Lissa & wife Karen Cammack, 10 grandkids, 12 great grandkids, and numerous nieces & nephews. He and wife Sherry were happily married to each other for 39 precious years. Richard enjoyed time with his family, fishing, watching NASCAR races, and even spent time out at the dirt race track in San Angelo TX.
Richard spent 18 years in the laundry & uniform business and 20 year as a Correctional Officer (until retirement) for the State of Texas at the Robertson / Middleton Units in Abilene Texas.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 16,2017 at 2 p.m. at the Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado Texas. Arrangements are with Love Funeral Home.
Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, medical staff, and EMS that provided care for Richard these last few years of his life. He loved each and every one of you. If he gave you a hard time than he was showing you he cared. Thank you again!!!
James (Jim) Wesley Robinson passed away at his home on Monday, June 12th, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 16, 1933 during the Great Depression, the fourth of 16 children to Willie Levi and Bertie Mae Robinson.
He graduated from Garden City High school and was drafted into the Army near the end of the Korean War and was honorably discharged before the Vietnam War. He met Mary Ruth Simpson in Midland, Texas, January 1965 and they married in March 1965. Quick romance, but lifelong! They had three kids and many adventures over the next almost 39 years, when Mary was taken way too early. He endured loss, found joy in his kids and grandkids, found peace and frustration in sowing and harvesting his garden, “adopted” and“adopted by” a local family, he lived a full life.
Faith and family was a strong value in Jim’s life. He was ordained and served as a deacon at South Memorial Church from 1971-1974, then actively served as a deacon at First Baptist Eldorado from 1975 – 2015.
Northern Natural Gas moved Jim and his family from Midland to Eldorado in 1974. Later NNG was bought out and Jim worked for and retired from Enron. Jim enjoyed fishing with his brothers, traveling to spend time with grandkids, family get togethers, and hours in his garden.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Simpson Robinson, his parents, two sisters (Viola Hillger and Mary Frances Hillger) and two brothers (Bill Robinson and Kenneth Robinson). His children: J and Renetta Moore, Scott and Patty Robinson, and Amy Robinson will miss him something fierce, but will tell his stories for years to come. His grandchildren: Miranda Moore, James & Nichole Moore, Jacob & Kennedy Robinson, Jeffrey Robinson, Randi Robinson, Toni Robinson, and Abigail Lopez will miss their special “Granddaddy time”, but they have many of their own stories to tell! Glyn, Robbin, Davis and Mason Hutto had a very special place in his heart as they “adopted” each other after Mary’s death. His brothers and sisters& their spouses and families (John Robinson, Bertie Wooten, Richard Robinson, Betty Davis, Melvin Robinson, Loren Robinson, Gary Robinson, Deanie Craft, Jerry Robinson, Deborah Robinson and Becky Curnutt) will miss his smile and laughter at the family get togethers.

Curtis Juul Overby was born August 2, 1939 in Plentywood Montana to John and Ella (Juul) Overby. Curtis passed away on May 27, 2017.
Curtis was raised on the family farm with his two brothers, Gordon and Rick. Curtis graduated from Plentywood High School in 1957 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Montana State University in Bozeman.
Curtis lived his entire life in rural Plentywood except for the last 16 months in Bozeman.
Curtis worked the land his entire life as a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Plentywood Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge and served on the Glenwood Board. Curtis enjoyed his horses, reading, gardening, the Minnesota Twins Baseball Team and model shipbuilding.
Curtis is survived by his wife Myrta Ann Topliffe Overby, three children and six grandchildren.

Nancy Jo Patton, 79, of College Station, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2017. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bryan with Pastor Wade Coleman officiating. Interment followed at College Station Memorial Cemetery.
Nancy was born on November 30, 1937 to Jack and Elizabeth Elder in San Angelo, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology in 1961.
Nancy was a founding and active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She also loved to shop, play the piano, listen to music, and dance, but Nancy especially loved spending time and caring for her family, her church, and her spiritual health by studying God’s word.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Alton DeWitt “D” Patton; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Hill (Danny) of Muldrow, OK, and Carolyn Suzanne Carlson (Maurice) of College Station; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Patricia Elder and Rita McWhorter of Eldorado.

Wilma Eloise was born to Charles and Elsie Long on April 30, 1928 in Nebraska. She went to be with Lord on June 29, 2017 in the Schleicher County Nursing Home in Eldorado, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers; Bob, Ivan, Jerry, Dean and Lowell Long and one sister, Rosalie Rexilius, her husband, Ira Dean Day, one child, Peggy, and one grandson, Andrew Todd Boxa.
She is survived by one brother, Stanley Long of Illinois, seven children; Deena Day of Eldorado, TX, Mary Boxa of New York, Beth Carpenter and husband Jim Carpenter of San Angelo, TX, Jennie Wipff and husband Tinker Wipff of Midland, TX, and Sarah Leyva and husband Robert Leyva or Carlsbad, NM. Also, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She preferred Eloise rather than Wilma and loved to be outside doing gardening. She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. She was a chocoholic, especially M&M's plain and anything with chocolate and caramel. She was a quiet-spoken woman, devoted mother and wife and loving grandmother. She was so loved by all who met her and she will be missed.
Deloris Diane Wilks Tatum, age 50, passed away Monday, July 3rd, 2017 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas with her family by her side. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 6, 2017 at Brenham Church of Christ with Dr. Doug Hall officiating. Chapel service will follow Friday 10:00 a.m. at Eldorado Cemetery Chapel, Eldorado TX. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Diane was born to Lowell and Kathy (Sauer) Wilks on December 14, 1966 in San Angelo, Texas. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1985 and later with an LVN degree from Howard College, and became certified in Substance Abuse Counseling. Diane worked as a nurse and a counselor until 2005 when her health prevented her from continuing her professional nursing career.
In addition to being an active member of the Brenham Church of Christ, she was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Diane was a proud Texan. She had a passion for genealogy and dedicated many hours to researching her family’s history. After a Study Abroad trip to Scotland, she fell in love with other cultures and dreams.
Diane married John Tatum in 1996 in San Angelo, Texas. On July 20, 2004 Diane and John were blessed by the birth of their son Jonathan.
Diane was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband John and son Jonathan of Brenham; parents L.D. and Kathy Doty of San Angelo; brother Michael Wilks and wife Cathy of Sweetwater; sister Amy Jackson of San Angelo; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her father Lowell Wilks and brother L.D. Doty II.
